How to Properly Use Flonase
First, you should shake the spray pump very well and do 6 test sprays into the air(away from your face) until a fine mist forms from each pump. If you don’t use it for 7 days, then repeat that step again for each use and then follow these steps:
- Step 1.Blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
- Step 2. Close 1 nostril. Tilt your head forward slightly and, keeping the bottle upright, carefully insert the Flonase nasal applicator into the other nostril.
- Step 3. Start to breathe in through your nose, and while breathing in press firmly and quickly down 1 time on the applicator to release the spray. To get a full dose, use your forefinger and middle finger to spray while supporting the base of the bottle with your thumb. Avoid spraying in eyes. Breathe gently inwards through the nostril.
- Step 4. Breathe out through your mouth.
- Step 5. If a second spray of Flonase is required in that nostril, repeat steps 2 through 4.
- Step 6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 in the other nostril.
- Step 7. Wipe the nasal applicator with a clean tissue and replace the dust cover).
Be sure to not stop using your previous corticosteroid suddenly or you may have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Try to taper off of your previous nasal spray before switching to Flonase.
It may take a few days for symptoms to improve, but allergies are usually immediately cleared up to 90%.
How the Relief Works
Flonase works as an intranasal corticosteroid that entered the body and blocks allergic reactions to triggers like pollen, mold, and pet allergies.
There is a key difference between Flonase and oral antihistamines: oral antihistamines only affect histamine in the body. Flonase, however, blocks histamine and five other inflammatory substances linked to allergies.
Other nasal sprays only block one inflammatory sinus chemicals. The substances blocked by Flonase include:
Many doctors neglect the five other sinus triggers that cause inflammation in your body as well. Flonase easily takes care of all six.
A good thing about this nasal spray is that it can be safely used every day without any possibility for addiction. Decongestant sprays are not usually recommended for use longer than 3 days because physical and mental addiction can become a problem in some people. One that can be used every day would be helpful if you live with pets that you are allergic to or if you work outside during the allergy season.
Benefits of Flonase
Flonase by Cutivate specifically advertises a number of benefits that promises full 24-hour relief from all of the following symptoms:
— Nasal Congestion
— Runny Nose
— Itchy Nose
— Itchy, Watery Eyes
The manufacturer also specifically advertises Flonase for certain allergy triggers. It promises to be very effective for outdoor allergens like weed, grass and tree pollen as well as most spores and animal allergies. Indoor allergens like dust, mites, and mold are also touted to be relieved immediately.
Does Flonase Work Better Than Antihistamines?
This steroid may be useful for preventing sleeplessness and drowsiness that are caused by the symptoms of allergic inflammation and OTC drugs. Those suffering from perennial and seasonal non-allergic and allergic rhinitis are the ones who will find the most benefit from this medicine. The most common symptoms of allergies can always be easily alleviated by one dose of Flonase nasal spray. Allergists claim that it is much more efficient than other allergy medications because it addresses the underlying symptoms of all different sorts of nasal allergies. A habit will not form and you do not need a prescription to buy it.
Flonase is the only nasal spray that exists in my house. This is because I, and my roommates, find it to be FAR more effective than any other decongestant that was tried. Since it blocks inflammation from all six allergy sources, this medicine will always be effective for you.
This is a relatively new medicine for allergy relief that blows competition out of the water and completely changes the science of treating allergy symptoms. This medicine will not treat the root cause of your allergies and will not cure them, but when symptoms are hard to manage, nasal spray should be the first thing that you go to, before antihistamines and prescription drugs. That is because sprays are generally much safer. Check out my amazon link at the top for the cheapest deal on Flonase bottles.
